- The Little League Baseball Division (also known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 10-12.
What is Majors Baseball?
Players
The Little League Majors program is a competitive league for players age 10-12. The season begins approximately April 1 and ends approximately August 1. Players will be expected to attend
all practices and games, expect either games or practice 6 days a week.
Please note that Intra-league games (games between RCYB teams) will play with Intermediate Rules (on 50/70 field with leading off and standard stealing).
This program is not an equal playing time league, and all you are required to play is 1 offensive inning and 2 defensive innings per game. Players new to the Majors division or players not drafted in previous seasons must try out to be draft eligible.
Parents
Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in Little League.
As parents of a major player you are expected to volunteer for the following:
- Field Clean up day
- Assigned concession Stand duties
- Umpiring and field prep
- Score keeping and announcing for home games
- Make sure your player arrives to games and practices on time
- It is RCYB's goal to provide players with the level of competition that suits each player and family. If the commitment of majors is more than what you are interested in you may choose not to try out and choose to participate in A-minors.
